City Guides

The CITY GUIDE shows venues in the selected city.

The standard sort order is: Bookmarked (By distance) Loved (By distance) Other (By general popularity). This order can be changed in More -> Filter (see below).

  1. SELECT GETAWAY

    Select between 50 getaways in the app. The list is alphabetic.

  2. AMBASSADOR PROFILE
    Find an expert in the city by clicking on the ambassador profile.

  3. FILTER BY TYPE
    This is the main navigation within a city guide. You can choose between All, Stay, Eat, Drink, Shop and Do.

  4. FILTER MORE
    Enables sub section to the above mentioned menu.

  5. VENUE INFO
    Name and venue tags such as Type, Style, Price, Distance and Opening hours.

  6. LOVE AND/OR BOOKMARK
    Love or Not is important for WKNDTRP. This is NOT visible to anyone else than our algorithms and will improve how we recommend venues for you. It also suggests venues other users have recommended.

  7. SWITCH TO MAP VIEW
    The map view shows proximity between venues. See separate guide below.

  8. MENU - CITY GUIDES
    This is the main navigation and will take you between the different getaways in the app.

Explore

The explore tab is your inspirational feed of venues in the best getaways along with some other smart functions.  

  1. SEARCH
    Quickly find a venue in the app. The search will display name and getaway and allow you to Love It and/or Bookmark it.   

  2. HERE & NOW 
    This is a quick drop down menu and is based on your present location. It will suggest different filters depending on the time of day. You can select any link and the app will show you the available options.

  3. LOVE OR NOT
    Love or Not is important for you and WKNDTRP. This is NOT visible to anyone else than our algorithms and will improve how we recommend venues for you, depending on your taste. The loved venues will also be displayed higher in your city guide standard view. See below.  

  4. BOOKMARK IT
    This option allows you to bookmark a place you want to visit or have been recommended. The bookmarked venues will also be displayed higher in your city guide standard view. See below.     

Venue Detail

Each Getaway is fully equipped to provide you with all necessary information prior to making a reservation.

  1. VENUE NAME AND CONTACT DETAILS
    Each venue card will carry the name and contact details along with a link to Instagram and maps. The like, bookmark and share buttons help you make a note of the venue for later.

  2. DESCRIPTION
    A summary of the venue along with main tags such as star rating, type and awards are displayed for you to ascertain the type of venue.

  3. RATING

    Each hotel will display the rating of the venue across 4 platforms that are Google, Booking.com, Expedia and and Hotels.com.

4. INSTAGRAM
Each venue is linked to the Instagram of the establishment for you to have a quick scroll before making your reservation..

5. UBER
Open your Uber app from the WKNDTRP and book your taxi with ease (coming soon).

6. HOTEL BOOKING
The price of the hotel across the 4 main reservation platforms are displayed for comparison. Each will take you to the landing page of the hotel on each platform.

7. MAKE A RESERVATION
In some cases it is possible to book directly from the hotel. The Make a reservation button takes you directly to the hotel website.

Trips

Select your getaway, the dates for your trip and WKNDTRP will take care of the rest. Based on your profile and your location WKNDTRP will recommend stays, where to eat, go for a drink, where to shop, what to see and where to party. Want to alter something just slide between options and add new if so needed. Share and plan the trip with friends and family.

  1. CITY

    Shows which city that you have created a trip for.

  2. Dates
    The dates you selected for your trip.

  3. Skyscanner

    The Skyscanner option allows you to be directed to Skyscanner directly from the WKNDTRP app. Browse and book through various air travel options.

  4. Distance to next venue

    Based on GPS location the distance to next venue will be displayed for easier trip planning.

  5. Select venue/ swipe through

    If you are happy with your choice click on the select button to secure venue or swipe from the right to find other options.

Maps

The map view centers around where you are and is a quick way to find venues around you.

  1. FILTER BY TYPE
    This is the main navigation within a city guide. You can choose between All, Stay, Eat, Drink, Shop and Do.

  2. MENU - MAP
    This is the main Navigation and will take you between the different main tabs in the app.

  3. VENUES WITH SPECIFIC ICONS
    Venues are shown with icons symbolising All, Stay, Eat, Drink, Shop, Do, In addition symbols for Bookmark and Love are also visible.
