Hawaii

The Aloha state is a volcanic archipelago and is the only State in America made up of Islands. However out of the the many only 6 of them are very well known. Hawaii Island, Oahu, Maui Kauai, Molokai and Lanai. Some of the top attractions in Hawaii include the world-famous Waikiki Beach, the stunning Hanauma Bay, the historic Pearl Harbor, and the stunning Kilauea Volcano. Visitors can also explore the lush rainforests, go hiking or snorkeling, and enjoy traditional Hawaiian cuisine. Hawaii is ideal for families, honeymooners and outdoor enthusiasts. Tipping.

Restaurants and bars- The standard tipping amount for adequate service is 15% and you can tip 20-25% for outstanding service. It can come across as insulting to tip less than 15% for service

Taxi- A good rule of thumb is to tip 15% of the final bill for a smooth and courteous ride. You can also let the driver “keep the change,” if that's easier.

Hotels- Tip $5 for 2 bags and $10 for anything more. Keep in mind that the bell staff has a great memory—the more you tip, the more they are inclined to do special favours during your stay.

There are 3 ways to get from Honolulu Airport to the connecting Islands- by Airplane, Ferry and Taxi.

*Oahu is the hub and the Island that Honolulu International Airport (HIA)is located. You will most likely start your journey from here.

Airplane.

When you land in HIA you will need to take a flight out to the connecting Islands. There are plenty of daily flights avaibale and usually do not cost very much.

Helicopters can be arranged if you are going to a remote part of Hawaii.

Ferry.

If you prefer getting some fresh air a Ferry service is available to Maui and Lanai for about $30 one way. It operates only five times a day so you have to plan carefully.

Cruise ships are also available if you are feeling like living it up in Hawaii.

Taxi service.

Once you have landed in either of the Islands you can get a taxi to your hotel or wherever you are staying.

Best time to travel.

The best time to visit Hawaii is between March and September, when it sees the least rain and the highest temperatures. This is the perfect time to enjoy the beach or water. However, Hawaii's perennial warm weather makes it a good destination at any time of year, with pleasant temperatures between 23°C and 30°C.
