The best hotels in Riviera Maya

Hotel Escencia

Eva Longoria has been known to stay at this super stylish boutique hotel and we are beginning to understand why. Hotel Escencia is the perfect retreat from the concrete world of the city and the gorgeous thatched roof bar, rooftop, sumptuous curated suites facing the lush greenery of the jungle and of course the location along the shore is good enough to grab yourself an early booking. Tuck into fresh seafood at the upscale restaurants and immerse yourself in the Mayan-inspired spa.

Azulik Resort

Azulik is recommended by most of the locals whenever you ask them for the best place to stay in Tulum. Just when you thought Tulum could not get more bohemian, here comes Azulik to blow you away and tantalize your senses with its chic interiors filled with flowing cloth tents inside of rattan suites and rooms in earthy whitewashed color palettes. Ideal for the soul traveler and free spirited child. There’s of course a plethora of wellness options, beachside chilling, delicious cuisine and a roomy tree-house for when you just need that quiet time by yourself to meditate. A luxurious wellness hotel.

Eat & drink in Riviera Maya

Taboo Tulum

Taboo is a sexy lounge to grab a bite and chill by the pool. It usually attracts a glamorous clientele with its stylish ambience and the incredible gastronomy it offers despite its interestingly casual atmosphere. It’s the place where people like to dress up, take photos and spend quality time while on holiday. The cool cats call it a lifestyle, sinking their teeth into Mediterranean food and sipping cocktails in the sunshine. Sometimes there’s music but even if there isn’t the place still oozes cosmopolitan sexiness.

Harry’s Steakhouse & Raw Bar

]How about a juicy steak for lunch or dinner? For meat cravings, you know where to go. It’s got to be Harry’s Steakhouse for the premium cuts of meat they love to cook and grill up for you whenever you’re out and about and stopping by feeling ravenous. Even if it’s before dinner, break the rules and order yourself a delicious cut accompanied with your choice of savory dishes. The restaurant has a modern flair to it and the service is impeccable. Great ocean views too.

Riviera Maya’s best things to do

Cancun Underwater Museum

Do we even need to explain? This project has quickly become one of the most successful projects in conservation ever. And why is it so important to visit? The Underwater museum - one of the regions biggest tourist attractions was started with the goal of creating an artificial reef to help restore and rejuvenate the marine life in the Cancun and Isla Mujeres area.

Two Eyes Cenote

A prestigious diving spot in the Yucatan Peninsula also called Cenote Dos Ojos. Best to not miss if you’re into adventure and history. This is one of the largest cave systems that exists underwater and it is named Two Eyes because of two sinkholes at the spot as deep as seventy meters long and connected to a 400 meter passageway. Definitely an adrenaline pumping experience that’s also rich in culture when you catch a glimpse of the aquatic life of Quintana Roo.

Xcaret Park

This eco-tourism park is a fan favorite because it’s got everything that anyone on holiday might expect from Mexican Riviera. It’s mouthwatering food and drinks, snorkeling activities, swimming for the whole family, and exciting marine exhibits like the Coral Reef Aquarium, Jaguar island and Monkey island.
