Fun and unique things to do in Seoul

Seoul needs no introduction. This dynamic city is bursting with punchy flavors of the East in its many high-end and casual eateries, glittering skylines, coffeeshops, festivals and vibrant music scene (the K-Pop genre is a global phenomenon now). The city attracts crowds during the peak months but we’re in summer right now and interestingly enough, it’s actually best to visit Seoul September onwards because the weather can get a bit too hot and humid. Also, lucky for us South Korea is opening up visa-free travel for selected countries right now. So if we’re planning for September, there needs to be some must-try places on our holiday itinerary. The cool part about Seoul is that it’s got a mix of old world and new world attractions and activities. So if you’re looking for history, you will find it in the war memorials and temples but if modernity is more your thing, the technology marvels and unlimited shopping will definitely blow your mind. But what do you for fun?

If you’re not sure what to do in the city, don’t worry. We’ve got you covered in this blog post.

Visit Rabbit Park

A lot of travelers come to Seoul for this amazing attraction set in the stylish neighborhood of Seorae Village. It’s one of their most favorite things to do! Just like the name suggests, the park is filled with cute and friendly rabbits you can spend time cuddling and taking photographs with. For an animal lover, this is bliss. Good place for a romantic picnic too, just saying.

Day trip to Gangnam

One the best things to do when you’re tripping in Seoul is to spend time in the heart of Gangnam. Gangnam is the part of the city that is packed with so much energy and excitement - some say it never sleeps. Korean singer PSY was right when he sang about Gangnam Style! Plan out an itinerary and spend the whole day strolling about and looking at the gigantic skyscrapers and digital mega screens in the city center. Eat at amazing restaurants and go clubbing non-stop in the night.

Stroll through Bukchong Hanok Village

In between your sightseeing in the temples, city squares and luxury malls, don’t forget to visit this beautiful village in Seoul prettiest neighbourhood. In Bukchong Hanok village you will see traditional hanok style houses and people still living in these traditional home today. This is the perfect place to witness the old-meets-new theme that Seoul is best known for. It is like stepping into another world.

Go crazy at Everland Resort

A weekend trip in Seoul is fun and games for the whole family. Or maybe you’re the solo traveler with a free spirit waiting on a rollercoaster that will change your life. Seoul is never short on amusement parks, arcade games and circus fun. Everland Resort is Korea’s answer to Disneyland. And they’ve got incredible rides like the giant wooden rollercoaster. Most don’t miss out on the mad over-the-top parades either.

There’s loads more activities you can dip your toes into in colorful Seoul like mini-adventures at Lotte World, N Seoul Tower or even just getting the experience of trying on a traditional Bukchong hanbok, South Korean traditional costume. Trust me, there’s so much variety in Seoul! So what are you waiting for? Download our complete Seoul city guide and see more incredible travel suggestions like this. Happy weekend tripping.
