Buenos Aires – A reader’s paradise
When we think Argentina, we think Lionel Messi. The GOAT of football bringing home the FIFA world cup trophy only a few months ago. Although this isn’t the only thing the country should be known for. Buenos Aires the capital of Argentina is known to have the largest collection of libraries and book stores in the world giving right to be called a reader’s paradise. It is home to well renowned authors such as Luis Borges and Julio Cortazar. This bookshop capital of the world hosts stores at every block… literally. Making this city the perfect getaway for the book worm out there. However, there are some bookstores that are better than others. Libros del Pasaje
A bookstore and café in the same place is quite literally the perfect combination. High ceilings and an endless shelf of books help you get lost simply browsing through the bookstores collection. The highlight at Libros del Pasaje however is the bookstore’s café located right in the center. If you need to kill a few hours on your getaway or simply need a quiet place to get work done this is a must go to. The staff is always ready to help and the smell of coffee floating in the air is enough to keep you awake. If you’re lucky you could even drop in for one of a weekly book presentation. Eterna Cadencia
A few minutes away from the Libros del Pasaje, Eterna Cadencia embraces low lighting and plush surroundings. Here you will find a restaurant and bar in the center courtyard of the bookstore allowing for a relaxed reading experience. The book store is decorated with armchairs and reading tables for those who want to indulge in a good book in the bookstore itself. It is also the ideal location if you ever need to refer textbooks, do some studying or research in silence. Drop by the bar after you’re done or take a quick break at the restaurant. Either way you may spend an entire day here and not realize. Not the worst way to spend a holiday in our opinion.
Dain Usina Cultural
This bookstore prefers to be called a “cultural Factory” rather than a bookstore and we are love the uniqueness. Unlike the previous two, here you won’t find dim lighting and wooden furniture. Dain Usina Cultrual is an old colonial style house with white interiors and high ceilings. Things are a little more modern here starting with the stores book collection. Browse through over 20,000 bookings ranging from novels, art and design to name a few. The bookstore provides a fully equipped restaurant on the ground floor and bar on the rooftop terrace. Sign up for the many book presentations or short courses and even visit one of the concerts that take place here regularly.
