A night in London
The city of London is known for its quaint architecture, world-renowned landmarks, buzzing people and of course its unpredictable weather. It really is the kind of city that does not sleep. There is a vastness of activity with people rushing around you too busy in their own train of thought. However as much as this city is bursting with colour and adventure during the day, it was described as having a sinister beauty by night. London after dusk is an entire experience in itself with something to do for everyone, regardless of who you are. Now that London is slowly but steadily opening up, when you arrive in London for a night where do you head to first?
Here are my recommendations for dinner, late night drinks and finally a place to call it a day in this city.
Hakkasan Mayfair
If you are craving Cantonese then this Michelin star awarded restaurant is first on the list. Hakkasan Mayfair features locally inspired dishes and drinks, using ingredients and techniques that showcase the different Asian culture and cuisines. Do not let the dimly lit entry staircase fool you, because once you reach the top you are in for one of quite the dining experience.
Sketch
If you like to eat in a place that is equally as colourful and lively as the city you are in then Sketch in Mayfair is a definite must go. Described, as having one of the most beautifully designed interiors Sketch too is a Michelin star awarded restaurant. It is a hub of 4 different restaurants each with their own interior and menu, so there is a selection to choose from.
After a belly full, time to hit the bars and clubs for some late night fun.
Oriole Bar
Bars can get very loud as time passes by, so if you like being able to hear what your partner is saying Oriole Bar is ideal. Inspired for travellers and decorated with artefacts from various countries, this bar takes you around the world. Their curious blend of spirits is enough to keep you buzzing far into the morning hours.
The Chiltern Firehouse
This in itself is considered a landmark on London, known by anyone The Chiltern Firehouse has its own indoor bar. Luxury interiors and classy cocktails, its swanky and upscale. As if things cannot get easier the Chiltern Firehouse doubles up for accommodation. Star class luxury accommodation with a fine range of amenities and surrounded by restaurants, bar and shopping the Chiltern Firehouse is the perfect place to experience luxury in the city.
The Berkeley
Located between Hyde Park and Knightsbridge The Berkeley is the epitome of British luxury. It offers a range of things to do within the hotel from their afternoon tea with a twist to one of the most sophisticated bars in the city. If you need to unwind in luxury The Berkeley is highly recommended.
A weekend in London isn’t enough time to soak in all it has to offer, but there is plenty to do in the few hours you are there.
