Amalfi Coast
The Amalfi Coast is one of Italy's most memorable destinations. It’s a popular holiday destination, for its best beaches and stunning coastal views dotted with small beaches and pastel-colored fishing villages. Tipping.
Restaurants and bars- Tips are not necessary and not expected at all. However if you do want to, you can ask them to keep the extra change.
Taxi- Feel free to tip if they are extra helpful, they will appreciate it. It is good practice to agree a final fare before the journey begins.
Hotels- You can tip the porter, usually no more than 5 Euros. You can leave the concierge 1 or 2 Euros if he provides good service.

Transport from Naples Airport.
There are 5 ways to get from Naples Airport (NAP) to Amalfi - by train, bus, ferry, taxi, car or town car.
Train.
The best way to get from Naples Airport (NAP) to Amalfi is to take the line 1 train which takes 1h 47m and costs €40 - €55. Alternatively, you can bus and line 5120 bus, which costs €8 - €17 and takes 2h 58m. According to GQ magazine, For those travelling by train, the most efficient and trustworthy way to purchase tickets is Trainline.
Bus.
You can reach the Amalfi Coast also by bus, with SITA. There are many buses leaving from Napoli Central Station that will take you to Amalfi in approximately 2 hours. Some companies are also introducing shuttle buses, shared with other passengers, to get from Naples Airport to Positano or Praiano.
Towncar.
Rent a car directly at Naples Capodichino Airport. All the major car rental services operate in the airport and you can get a good deal with an early reservation. Prices for car rentals in Naples are higher than the ones in Rome usually and full insurance coverage is strongly advised.
Ferry.
If you are in Naples and you wish to reach the Amalfi Coast by the sea, you can take a ferry or hire a private transfer by boat, depending on how comfortable you want to travel, the number of people travelling and the budget available. If you are planning to take a ferry, you have to go to Molo Beverello Harbour, reachable by taxi or bus.
Taxi service.
Taxi costs €70 - €90 and takes 59 min from Naples Airport to Amalfi. Be mindful that taxi is going to be pricier than the other options. Still, if this is the option, there are many services to choose from such as City Airport Taxis which provide a fleet of luxury cabs so you can arrive in comfort and style.
Drive.
The best time to head to Amalfi on your own would be in the early hours of the morning when the roads are the least crazy and and crowded. But if you don’t want to miss out on the scenic drive through Sorrento then this might not be the option for you. Depending on the time of year, it could be pitch black when you hit the road.
Best time to travel.
May to September. Temperatures between 20°C and 25°C. The weather is beautiful during this time and the activities are plentiful, without the crowds that July and August bring.
